Since I could remember, there has been no shortage of opinions about how to make a business succeed. Among these opinions is the idea that people have to put a lot of money into the business so as to make it successful. Indeed, this idea is exactly consitent with mine. I am convinced that sufficient funding can be said to be the most important factor contributing to a successful business. To be provided are two major reasons that can support my perspective on this topic.

First of all, money is the prerequisite for building a team of elite workers. To be specific, only with sufficient capital injected into the business can it manage to recruit the most qualified and talented employees from the labor market. As a matter of fact, the cost of human resources is constantly increasing, especially in big cities such as Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Beijing, where an excellent programmer might cost the company between 200,000 and 800,000 RMB per year. To go even further, these first-class talents also require perfect working conditions, including spacious office space preferably in city centers with plentiful parking space and well-developed welfare systems that offer employees social insurance and health-care as well as other perks. These costs can be enormous when a business has more than one thousand employees. Thus, most companies nowadays are actively seeking investment from outside, or otherwise they will have difficulties recruiting or maintaing a talent pool, without which the company can hardly develop new products or services and is thus destined to fail in this increasingly competitive market.

In addition, money is also in dire need in order to promote the business and attract consumers. There is a good reason for this: there are generally more than ten competing products in a specific field, either in traditional business of manufacturing or in new industries such as e-commerce. Therefore, today’s people have so many choices at their disposal that business must go to great lengths to attract potential consumers. Specifically, business needs to spend huge amounts of money to advertise its product or services, so that consumers can acquire basic information and have some trust in the business. That is why even the first-ranking business such as Coca Cola and Apple regularly make advertisements to appeal to consumers and increase the sales. Unfortunately, many startups don’t have enough capital to make advertisements, so many of them go bankrupt after several years. Only those who acquire adequate funding from investors can use a great variety of means to publicize their image and products so as to continue to expand the business and achieve eventual success.

Overall, we now can safely come to the conclusion that it is indeed necessary to put a lot of money into a business in order to make it succeed. After all, both advertising and recruitment, essential elements in a business’s sustainable and successful development, require huge amounts of capital.
