1.不断的改写，关键词paraphrase!Paraphrase,paraphrase, paraphraseParaphrasing is very important in TOEFL Writing. In fact, if you don’t paraphrase yoursources in Integrated Writing and just use the exact wording from thelecture or passage instead, you’ll lose a lot of points forplagiarism. Repeating the question in Independent Writingword-for-word isn’t great for your score either.
So remember topractice good paraphrasing strategies, and seek out paraphrasingpractice activities to boost your paraphrasing skills.
2.对于托福独立作文，要事先打草稿预写！For TOEFL Independent Writing, do good prewritingSo many TOEFL Independent Writing responses turn out to be disorganized due to alack of prewriting. Prewriting involves two steps: brainstorming andoutlining. In the brainstorming phase, just write down whatever ideasyou can think of. Then move onto your outline. This is where youchoose the ideas you’ll use in the essay, and you organize theminto the right order. The order of your outline should match good TOEFL Independent Essay structure, providing for an introduction,body, and conclusion.3.对于托福综合作文，最重要的点是讲座部分！For TOEFL Integrated Writing, focus on the lectureFor TOEFL Integrated Writing, remember that the main task is to “summarize the pointsmade in the lecture.” Yes, you will also explain how these points respond to ideas in the passage. But the lecturer will repeat themost important ideas in the passage. So if you take any notes on thereading, keep them simple and short. Then really pay attention towhich points in the reading the lecturer chooses to talk about. Andfocus on the lecturer’s response to these points.4.对于托福综合作文，笔记方法非常重要！For TOEFL Integrated Writing, take good notesIn TOEFL Integrated Writing, your notes are your prewriting. Your essay simply summarizesthe reading and lecture, so what you write should be be basedcompletely on reading and lecture notes.
The focus of yournotes should be on the lecture rather than the reading. But ideasfrom the reading still do matter — your notes should directlycompare the author’s views with the lecturer’s views. Considerwriting the views in the reading in one column, while writing noteson the speaker’s opinion in another. Or find some other way toclearly connect and compare the opinions of the professor and thewriter in your notes.
5. 要确保拼写的正确性！Make sure yourspellings are understandableOne of the biggest“deal breakers” for a good score in TOEFL Writing is spelling. Ifyou seriously misspell key words, your TOEFL Writing response canbecome very hard to understand, and sometimes impossible tounderstand.
Beware of words thathave similar sound and similar spelling, such as these commonlyconfused verbs. You can change the entire meaning of a sentence ifyour misspelling changes one word into another. Also avoid guessingat the spellings of bigger words. Guesses at spellings of advancedvocabulary words can lead to some completely unreadable spellingchoices. If you’re really not sure how to spell a word that youwant to use, think of a different word or phrase you could useinstead.
6. 确保语法的正确性！Keep your grammarunder controlSometimes theoverall organization of an essay is just fine (thanks to goodnote-taking or prewriting). But the problem lies in individualsentences. Be aware of the different grammar structures in English.Understand how clauses, phrases, and sentences are structured.
7. 确保语法的多样性Include grammarvariety in your TOEFL WritingThere are manydifferent ways to make a sentence. TOEFL scorers will want to seethat you know these different grammar patterns. Be aware of thedifferent possible grammar constructions in English, and createsentences that demonstrates your knowledge of varied grammar.
