在雅思写作的官方四大评分标准中有两点是针对语法部分的考查：Grammatical Accuracy（正确性）和Grammatical Range（范围）。

Range在这里指的是通过各种复合句的运用，来体现考生掌握的语法范围广度。所以当我们的作文中没有明显语法错误的时候，考官给分的重要依据就是复合句。

英语中有三大从句，分别是名词从句，定语从句和状语从句，今天主要介绍前两种从句在写作中的常用句式。

名词从句

包括4种从句：主语从句，宾语从句，表语从句和同位语从句。

1. 主语从句，在雅思写作中需要会写下面3个主语从句（下划线部分为句子主语）：

1) 用that或wh-词引导的从句作为主句的主语。

Whether education can play a decisive rolein persuading people to eat less junk food is still a very controversial issue.

教育能否在说服人们少吃垃圾食品方面起决定性作用仍然是一个非常有争议的问题。

2)  It做形式主语

It is obvious that the strength of acountry’s economy is directly bound up with the efficiency of its agricultureand industry.

一个国家的经济实力与其工农业生产效率密切相关是显而易见的。

3) What引导的主语从句

What factors lead to this phenomenon andwhat we can do to solve the problem have become a concern to many people.

导致这种现象的因素是什么，我们能做些什么来解决这个问题，已经成为许多人关注的问题。

2. 宾语从句

some people claim that children couldaccess all stories on line or through watching TV programs,movies or readingbooks.

有些人声称孩子们可以上网或通过看电视节目、电影或读书来获取所有的故事。

3.  表语从句

Another reason for this is that the publicare encouraged to have their own private cars.

另一个原因是，公众被鼓励拥有自己的私家车。

This is because most students will enterthe workplace,earn a living, and support their own families after graduation.

这是因为大多数学生毕业后就会进入职场，谋生和养家。

4. 同位语从句

Nowadays,an increasing number of people areconcerned about the phenomenon that our kids are spending more time watchingTV.

如今，越来越多的人担心孩子花费越来越多的时间在电视上。

I agree with the view that not onlygovernments but every single citizen should do one’s part to fix this problem.

我同意这样的观点：不仅政府，而且每个公民都应该尽自己的职责来解决这个问题。

定语从句

需要会写who, that和which引导的定语从句，如下：

Students who simply rely on teachers forknowledge are not really learning.

仅仅依靠老师来学习知识的学生并不是真正的学习。

Advertisement is an effective marketingtool that almost every company uses.

广告是一个几乎每个公司都使用的有效的营销工具。

Depending on parents for a longer timecertainly reduces the chances of interacting with peers, which is detrimentalto their social skill development.（非限定性定语从句）

长时间的依赖父母当然会减少与同龄人交往的机会，这对他们的社交技能发展是不利的。
